I had the pleasure of taking these family pictures. The rain may have been extreme outside but it didn't dampen their spirits. Look at Mr. Senior himself chilling out across his sisters!!

edit: My sweet DD thinks this first picture is just silly without the story. So...the young woman is a new friend I met at the social. She's standing in the center of an enlightenment maze. I was trying to capture 'walking the path to enlightenment' but she was so energetic and quick I couldn't catch her feet until she got to the center. I put this picture at the top of my post because I felt going to my first social was fun and full of enlightenment.
(We'll see if this passes the inspection of DD now!)

I went to my very first photography social on Tuesday. It was a blast! We climbed a fireman's practice tower and shot the sunset from it. While waiting for the the sun to go down, I met some great people and captured some fun shots.

My words of wisdom of the day...

If you like taking pictures, find a photography social, group, or club. Hanging out with other photo enthusiasts is fantastic!

Those eyes!!

I just couldn't resist putting this picture up. He's so darn cute and his eyes are to die for. He and his big brother came to stay with us today. I, of course, just could not pass on the opportunity to snap a few shots of his beautiful baby blues! He was such a good baby all day and his brother was a sweetheart too.

Its almost Senior 2009 time...

SPRING AT LAST!!

I stepped out to check on my little kiddos and almost stepped on these. They weren't there 2 days ago. I ran back in, got my camera as fast as I could, shot away like a crazy woman, and still haven't checked in with the kiddos. Guess I better go do that now!!

The mechanic's car

Getting pictures of my own kids lately has been kind of like the old saying about the mechanic's car. I've found something that works for little miss here though. She's helping Mommy figure out and double check her lighting. Isn't she doing a great job!! Sometimes, parenting is about whatever works. Now if I could find 'whatever works' with her younger brother and potty training.

This sweety and his Mom came to see me today and I'm so glad they did. This is the same little one in my first post. They came back today to see the announcements I'd made for them. While they were here, we decided to get a couple more shots.

Seems like yesterday my youngest DD was this age and I just came home from her Kindergarten round-up. In a blink of an eye, five more years will pass.....

And, that's why I love what I do--Capturing today with the blink of a shutter!!
